Was there any doubt? Who else in Marvel represents life and rebirth more than Jean Grey? If you thought Hulk with a red ring was powerful, dear Thor (who was second choice) how powerful would the Phoenix be as a White Lantern?
So that sums up my Marvel Lantern Series. Hope you all enjoyed it and sorry it took so damn long
Well, here it is as promised, the return of Sketch Saturday. And first up in order to continue my Marvel Lantern series; Star Sapphire Black Cat.
I did get stuck in this one for awhile as I wasn't too sure what the criteria was to become a Star Sapphire. Near as I can tell you have to be a woman, love something/someone unconditionally, but for that love to not feel reciprocated. With that in mind, Felicia’s love for Peter seemed perfect.
Next up? Who will be the White Lantern?
I have to apologise (well I don’t HAVE to but I WANT to) regarding my “weekly” posts. If I’m honest, I don’t really know what’s happened the past two weeks. Everything has just kind of taken a backseat but I’m getting back on top of things.
ANYWAY, Marvel Lantern series. So last up was Captain America as the Blue Lantern. A man always hoping America becomes the country he thinks it can. But this is Indigo week. And with Indigo means Compassion and who is more compassionate in Marvel than Nightcrawler? Now I’ve not been reading X-Men of late but I understand Nightcrawler died and is back now? Either way, despite the Indigo Tribes actual origins now of being hardened criminals, I still think Nightcrawler would have the compassion required without the need of rehabilitation.
Next week (probably) who in Marvel is just full of unrequited love?
With greater foresight, I should have maybe started posted my Marvel Lantern series a week or two earlier that way this one would have been up upon the release of Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier. Ah well. It’s done now. Now, onto the drawing. I did toy around with the idea of Spider-Man as a Blue Lantern for awhile and Cap as Green but, as I explained last week, Kyle is basically Peter so the Green just made a better fit for him. Plus, Cap is effectively a beacon of hope to every day people as well as the superhero community. People see that shield and start thinking everything is going to be ok.
Next week, who is the most compassionate in Marvel?
If anybody is interested in what they see, just send me a message or an email and we’ll talk shop. There’s some samples of what I do and can do. Generally, if it involves putting a pencil on some kind of canvas, I can get you a quote.
