There's nothing I can really say here I haven't said already on the deviation. Basically it was just a kind of thought process I was going through when I came up with my own Superman logo. I kind of liked to Sin City-esque Superman I done in the corner.
I have to apologise for the colour on this though. This is a straight scan from pad to here, it wasn't coloured on a computer so the 'S' does appear more orange than intended, it's supposed to be a more blood red colour. I so want this tattooed on my arm one day when my arm is of a size worthy to be shown
Why thank you. I thought it would be nice to show the history as it kind of ties in with what I've said below my design of "change it from what?" The one thing I don't think I mentioned on the description OR the deviation is the idea that the 'S' is a symbol, not a letter. Lois saw an 'S' thus named him Superman, he didn't name himself it. SO the basis of my design was to create a symbol that looked like an 'S' but wasn't...like an ink blot test kind of thing.
I never knew there were so many versions of Superman's S. Unless i'm mistaken you left out the silver one that is on his black suit that absorbs sunlight. It was in one of the cartoon network movies.
There's actually a LOT more designs, I just kind of picked out the long-lasting or iconic ones. The silver one was onl;y really about until he gained enough power to start wearing the red and yellow again and it was basically the same design as well.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
