Where does the time fly? Since it first began coming to Scotland, I have been a regular attendee/vender at the MCM Scotland Comic Con. MCM, for all its faults, will always hold a special place with me because really its where I began the journey as a comic artist to where I am today. As a result, I always like to make sure, above all else, MCM is at least the one show I will definitely be at in any given year.

In September 2013, Stephen Sutherland and I launched the black & white edition of our Glasgow-based comic series "NeverEnding" which was a resounding success for me personally. Not only did the comic sell out with hours of the venue opening but I too ran out of paper in the available drawing pads I had brought with as a back up. As a result, I had to fall back onto sell prints I had brought more just for table decoration than anything else. And fortunately, I managed to get my hands on another drawing pad and began commission sketches again.
In 2014, after the success of the previous year, Stephen and I returned with the new, fully coloured, "NeverEnding" issue one under the banner of Glasgow indie-publisher Unthank Comics. Another resounding success for the comic and with the venue bigger and over a longer period this time, I had a great deal of fun at the event.

So where are we now? It's September. It's 2015. And yes, I will be returning to my Comic Con home under my new banner GK Illustration in exactly two weeks time (eek). With me I'll be bringing new-to-MCM issue two of "NeverEnding" with the special edition cover created by the amazing Emma Vieceli, As well as that, I'll be bringing a selection of prints found here on the site with me in various sizes from A5 to A3. And yes, I'll be bringing more than one drawing pad with me should anyone with a quick sketches. I'll have a price guide on my table on the day.

MCM isn't the only event I'll be at this year. I'll also be attending the Big Glasgow Comic & Craft Fair in October. But more on that later. This is MCM's journey first. So, if anything is going to be attending the Con, be sure to look me up in the Comic Village. As soon as I know where my table is, I'll let you good people know.

See you then.

Hey mate... Sounds like your living the dream. I can't make the MCM Glasgow this year. Is there a way of getting my hands on a copy of the next issue?

also are you attending the Edinburgh Comic Con next year. (2nd, 3rd April 2016) It's moved to a bigger venue as it was a great success last con. You can find info either on FB or there website.

Cheers
